    Does Moalboal have a Beach?
    The town of Moalboal overlooks a bay and has no beach. The tourist area of Panagsama Beach has small patches of sand. To enjoy one of the best fine sand beaches in Cebu, you need to take a short tricycle ride to White Beach in Savedra, 6 km from Panagsama. This is a large fine white sand beach with good snorkeling.

    Does Quo Vadis Dive Resort have a Pool?
    Yes, we have a big pool, deep in one end and shallow in the other. We also have a kids pool and a swim up bar.
    Are there Wi-Fi Areas?
    We have free Wi-fi in the whole resort but it works best in the Wi-fi lounge, the resturants and dive shop.

    Does Quo Vadis have a restaurant?
    We have one main restaurant called Arista with a full European/Asian menu and a Sea view bar that offers short orders like baguettes and bugers.

    What is the local voltage?
    The Philippines only has approximately 220 voltage power supply; the voltage can vary. No110 volt outlets are available.

    Will I be able to plug in my own appliances?
    The Philippines has uniquely shaped 2-pin and 3-pin plugs. In Quo Vadis we have universal outlets in all rooms so that you can plug in most types of electrical plugs. However it is always a good idea to buy an adaptor before you arrive.

    Is it possible to order Airport transfer?
    Yes. Quo Vadis have its own resort car with driver that will pick you up any time a day ( or night ) We also work closely together with the best car transfer company in Cebu to ensure your comfort and safety.

  • +Diving


    What is the normal dive schedule?
    The morning dives leaves the dive shop at 9 am for 2 tank dive. The boat will be back for lunch around 1 pm. The afternoon dive is at 2.30 pm and the night dive 5.30 pm
    The Sardine run is usually scheduled as a boat dive in the afternoon because it is a shallower dive but we can go there with a tricycle and make a shore dive as well.
    The house reef dive is available anytime between 8 am and 8 pm.

    What size tanks are available?
    Quo Vadis have (12 liter) aluminium tanks and also a few (15 liter) tanks.

    How often is there a dive to Pescador Island?
    We offer trips to Pescador Island every other day as it is the world famous site in Moalboal and offers fantastic diving.

    Is there any macro?
    There is a lot of macro life here around Moalboal like frogfish, nudibranch, pipefish, sea mouth, blue ringed octopus, mandarin fish, pygmies sea horse and much more.

    What about big fish?
    We are sometimes are lucky to see thressure shark, white tip shark, whale shark and manta ray, but Moalboal is more famous for it healthy macro marine life and healthy corals.

    Is to do a night dive?
    Yes, we arrange night dive every day upon request on our fantastic house reef.

    Can I get nitrox?
    Yes, we provide nitrox mix from 30% to 36% for a small additional price. Quo Vadis also offer Padi Nitrox course.

    Can I try out scuba diving?
    Yes, we offer PADI Discover Scuba Diving you start out with a pool session which lets you try out the scuba equipment and practice the essential diving skills after that you go straight to the oceans so you can experience the abundance of the coral reef life – perhaps even see your first turtle up close.

    Can I snorkel?
    Yes, Quo Vadis has ha fantastic house reef with beautiful corals and many Turtles as residence.

    Where is the nearest decompression chamber?
    Best not to take any risks when diving as the nearest chamber is in Cebu City which is 3 hours by car.

  • +Excursions around Moalboal


    What is there of interest to see in the area?
    The popular excursions are – Kawasan Falls,Moalboal public markets, White Beach, cockpit, (Sunday afternoons only) and Panagsama Beach for the night life.

    What can I find in Panagsama Beach?
    Panagsama Beach does NOT offer a sandy beach but you will find several restaurants, bars (with pool tables), resorts, gift shops, tattoo shop and disco (Saturday nights only).

    How far to the nearest beach?
    There are two fine white sand beaches in the area: White Beach (also known as Savedra) and Lombok beach. Both beaches are easily accessible by road or boat – say about 30 minutes.

    Can i do canoynering in Kawassan Falls?
    There is many shops that offers canyoneering. Check with Planet action or Cyan adventure. You can also go to Kawassan falls and book it there.

    Where is the nearest ATM?
    There is 1 ATM in Panagsama beach inside (Eve’s Kiosk) and 2 outside Gaisano (the big mall in Moalboal) 1 in 360 pharmacy in moalboal and 1 in municipality hall in moalboal. Sometimes they all are out of cash or are not working so try to always have some cash with you when you go to Moalboal. It will save you time and hassle because most restaurants and bars don’t accept Creditcard.

    Do Quo Vadis accept credit cards?
    Yes, we do accept major credit cards, but not American express. We have no surcharge or Creditcard fees.

    Where can I change foreign currency?
    We do currency exchange at Quo Vadis and there is other places in Moalboal town as well.

    What is the practice of tipping in the Philippines?
    It is common practice to tip up to 10% at restaurants, cafes, bell boys, hairdressers and others providing personal services. Note that many establishments now include a 10% service charge in their bills. It is not common to tip taxi and tricycle drivers.

    How much is the airport departure tax at Mactan airport?
    For international flights its 750.00 php

    Is there any malaria in the Philippines?
    Malaria is NOT a problem in Cebu or Philippines in general

    Are mosquitoes a problem?
    Mosquitoes can be a problem in cities where there is more stagnant water. Generally they are not a serious problem at our resort as we are next to the sea. Sunset is the time that they appear so if you a prone to being bitten by mosquitoes apply repellent cream at this time.

    What disease should I be aware of?
    The most serious disease in Cebu is dengue fever. It is rare but have smaller, local outbreaks during the rainy season(spread by mosquitoes)

    Where is the nearest doctor?
    There is a clinic in Moalboal town but for any serious concern we recommend you go to South General Hospital near Naga City (a 90 minute ride) or Chong Hua Hospital in Cebu City.

    Where is the nearest hospital?
    There are simple provincial hospitals at Badian and Barili that can help with smaller problems, however for anything serious we recommend South General Hospital near Naga City or one of the private hospitals in Cebu City.

    Can I buy most medication in Moalboal?
    You can buy most medication in Moalboal in the 360 pharmacy or Rose pharmacy (Gaisano mall )

    Is it safe to drink tap water?
    You should not drink the tap water. You can refill your drinking bottle of water in the reception or at the dive center for free. Try to save plastic and reuse your bottles. All rooms have a refrigerator where we also have drinking water for sale.

    Should I use sun tan lotion?
    The sun in the Philippines is very strong and so suntan lotion is a must to avoid skin damage.

    Where is the closest mini mart?
    We have a small souvenir shop in the resort with the basic stuff you need like batteries sun cream some medicine etc.
    There is a mini mart 2 min walk from the resort where you can buy other things that you might need.

    Can Filipinos understand English?
    You should always be able to find someone who can understand and converse in English. All Filipinos have some schooling in English; however, in the provinces they may not have that much practice at speaking English and may have a problem understanding spoken English.

    What languages are spoken in Cebu?
    The local language is called Cebuano or Visayaan. The majority of Cebuanos also speak the national languish Tagalog / Filipino and English.

    How many languages are spoken in the Philippines?
    In the Philippines there are between 120 and 175 languages, depending on the method of classification. The 13 major languages with more than 1 million people speaking the language are Tagalog, Cebuano, Ilokano, Hiligaynon, Waray-Waray, Kapampangan, Bikol, Albay Bikol, Pangasinan, Maranao, Maguindanao, Kinaray-a and Tausug.

  • +Safety for Tourists


    Is Cebu considered safe for tourists?
    Moalboal and provincial Cebu is very safe for tourists. The government have assigned Tourist Police to specifically take care of any problems tourists may encounter. Do take care of your belongings if staying or visiting Panagsama Beach as there have been instances of petty theft in bars. Like all big cities, there are certain areas of Cebu City that are more prone to pick pockets and fraudsters so do not walk about displaying expensive accessories e.g. gold necklaces, chains, mobile phones.

    How far is the resort from the airport?
    The Mactan International airport is 105km from the resort. The transfer takes 2.5 to 3 hours depending on the traffic in Cebu City.

    How do I get to Moalboal by public transport?
    First you need to get to the South Bus Terminal on the south side of Cebu City; best to take a taxi from the airport. Then take a bus to Moalboal. Ceres bus line runs some air-conditioned buses on this route but most of the buses just have open windows. Get off the bus in Moalboal near the public market and then take a tricycle (local form of taxi) to your chosen resort – about a 15 minute ride.

    Can I get transport to Liloan for transfer to southern Negros?
    We arrange transfers from Quo Vadis just ask in the reception for prices.
    You can also take the public bus from Moalboal Town to Bato or Liloan pier for boat transfer to Negros. The trip takes about 90 minutes.

    Can I get transport to Maya pier for the boat to Malapascua?
    Quo Vadis offer direct transfer to Maya. Then you don’t need to go to Cebu city first and it will only take about 5 hours. Just as the reception for prices.
    You can take the public bus or minibus (v-hire) to Cebu City. From Cebu City you can take a public bus to Maya pier in the north of Cebu. The whole trip by public transport will take 8-10 hours.
